Labrador Rescue

Following the sad news yesterday of Alison's passing, I was a little unsure of whether or not to go ahead with tonight's Wednesday Bonus Ball draw. Alison has a number on both the Wednesday night draw and the Saturday night draw and I wasn't sure if it might look disrespectful to post the draw tonight.

Myself and Jackie (who run the Saturday draw) have been discussing it via PM and have decided between us that we don't feel that postponing the draws is what Alison would have wanted, therefore, we propose to keep her number (29) allocated to her on both of the draws - myself and Jackie will continue to fund it in her memory and any winnings which may come from it will be donated to Rescue as this is what Alison used to do with her winnings anyway.

We hope this will be OK with the rest of the players in the draws and feel that this is one way we can keep her connection with Rescue alive for a long time to come.

A trophy is being donated for the funday in Alison and Charlies name By Alison (MollyMunch)
This will be for best Black dog in honour Of Charlie we will do it every year.
I will attend the funeral with Joanne and we will report back.

Lovely Idea. Perhaps we could help with the numbers taking it turns. Great idea about the Trophy. I was going to suggest having one.

The trophy is a lovely idea. It's great to know her memory will live on in the name of Lab Rescue. I think it's a really fitting tribute to a well loved lady and her beloved Charlie.

Both ideas so so lovely, I didn't know Alison but I am still sadenned by the loss for her family and friends. I am so proud to be a member of lab rescue, it is an amazing family to be part of and it is humbling to witness what lengths you all go through for each other.

Like Jen, I didn't know Alison either, but its amazingly heart warming how the rescue friends and supporters support not only the dogs, but also the friends made through the site. I think the idea of keeping Alisons numbers on the Bonus Ball draws, and especially the trophy, are fantastic ways of ensuring Alisons name is always remembered by, and connected to the rescue. Rest in Peace Alison, you and your support will never be forgotten xx
