Today was my mate Skye's 10th birthday.
I'd made an appointment at our vet for a routine health check and to pick up supplies of flea treatment and wormers but wasn't bothered because he loves the fusses he gets from the nurses.
After breakfast we had a good walk and then home for Skye's second breakfast (he thinks he's a Hobbit) then off to the vets.
Unfortunately he came home with a haircut because they found a slight heart murmer and did an ultrasound to check. Nothing too serious, luckily, just age related but worth the check. He brought home a blue squeaky dinosaur called Rex which he chose from the toy display as a consolation.
When we got home though he wouldn't settle and kept paceing between the kitchen and lounge. I thought he was having a senior moment and had forgotten he'd been fed until I realized that it was me having the senior moment cos I'd forgotten to make myself some lunch. As soon as I'd made a sandwich and drink he settled down for a good snooze on the settee.
Happy Birthday Skye and thanks for looking after me.
Lots of love from your dad Paul

Skye 10 Years Young
Glad to hear the heart murmur is nothing to worry about but I'm sure Skye thought Rex was worth the haircut. Also very pleased to hear Skye is keeping an eye on you, a lab never forgets when its lunch time
