Remembering 'JET' - 1996-2008.

Post by billybluemoor »

This first picture of JET is the one that inspired me to go and rescue him from a kennel where he had been dumped and left there for nearly 3 months by a supposedly reputable nationwide animal rescue organisation.
His ( responsible ) owner had signed him over to them before going into hospital with a terminal illness. A very sad thing to have to do... and a heartbreaking situation all round !
What a terrible shame she hadn't heard of 'Labrador Rescue' !!!
Glenys heard about Jet's situation and asked me to go and take a look at the 12 year old boy and , if possible, get him out of there.
Well.... a lot of anxious phone calls and several visits later, I did indeed bring him home. And as many of you know, he ended his twilight days here with me.

He was a much loved wonderful character and he is sadly missed.

Here are a couple of my favourite pictures of JET !

I remember it as though it were yesterday Gary. Whenever I sat in the armchair he'd come and rest his big heavy head on my knees and just look at me with that 'surprised', but happy, expression on his face.
I can honestly say that the only time his tail stopped wagging was when he was asleep !!

I'll bet your 3 are the same eh ? ... the rescued ones don't take anything for granted..

Great Memories !!!

Happy Days !!!!

Lovely pictures Martin.
I don't think anyone who was touched by the happy final months of Jet's life will ever forget him.
