Got this update on Susie, who came in with Jilly, anyone maybe thinking of giving Jilly a home please read below....
Hi Kathryn thanks for your reply re our adopting Susie we were really sorry to see via website that Jilly had been returned yet again knowing that she had lived with Susie we have realised after only three weeks that rehoming a dog with Susie's problems is not a quick fix it is going to take lots of time. After only three weeks she is much more confident is learning what treats are and is loving her walks, obviously you have to limit the distance because she is not used to going for a walk and need to build up gradually as her muscle tone improves. We consulted Deborah Gornall a dog behaviorist for help regarding her fear of other dogs and her keen interest in our cat who just wants to be ignored. She has been well behaved is good with children and people and not destructive, she does not know what toys are but hopefully she will in the future, she is also very clean in the house and is trying to tell us in various ways when she wants to go out,we will continue to update you on Susie's progress in the hope it might help other prospective re-homers she is learning basic commands quite quickly but we realise we have a way to go , we are in this for the long haul . We love Susie and we know she feels the same. ..
Isnt it lovely when you find someone dedicated to turning a dogs life around & so determined to make it work, i'm sure susie is going to have a wonderful life.

A house isn't a home without at least one Labrador

Remembering our beloved boys Milo, Little Max & Zak who forever will always be in our hearts and never forgotten Feb 2003 to May 2016, Jan 2010 to Jun 2017 & Nov 2004 to Nov 2017.
This is so lovely to hear, as her new owners said - they are in it for the long haul, they love Susie and Susie loves them - this is wonderful to hear. With time and patience you can turn a dogs life around, I know this will happen for Jilly too, so to anyone reading, thinking of adopting a dog like Jilly - it can be done, where there is a will there is a way.
