Pepe 2 weeks on.

Post by Badgerworld »

Hi

I thought it was about time I shared our absolute delight at our new family member.

We lost our 'old ' lady of 13 earlier this year, I hate not having a dog in the house, not that you can replace the dog you've lost, just fill the space they left.

We went to meet Pepe (now Rooney) just over 2 weeks ago. Our first thought was he's a big dog we've always had bitches so slightly smaller. But we decided to bite the bullit and took Roo home with us.The first evening was challanging to say the least with him trying to chew our arms off, and not calming no matter what we said. Poor love had left one home gone to MKF and then to us in the space of 2 days, no wonder he was confused.
Two weeks on Roo is a dream dog, such a character and so affectionate. I think he knew the one he needed to convince was dad (Greg) but talk about one man and his dog its more like one dog and his dad and Greg despite any reservations is absolutely smitten. It been a bit of a shock from having and old dog to a youngster again and the first week we were shattered, but now feeling much fitter. Rooney is just everything I love about Labradors and more, that natural exuberance and zest for life, it never fails to put a smile on my face.

If Pepe/Rooneys old Mum and Dad view the sight I'm sure giving him up was a very hard decision, be assured that he will be very loved and cared for. He is a absolute credit to you.
I wanted to try to put some piccies n but I'm not sur how I'll have another go tomorrow.

:occasion7: Welcome to the site and thank you for your lovely update. Roo certainly looks settled and what a handsome lad he is - and someone in the household obviously supports our favourite football team too :1963:

We lost our last lab at 12 years old and adopted George aged 10 months in May 2009 so really understand when you say about the difference in having a youngster again. They bring so much laughter and fun back into the house and the memories of your old dog are still there to be remembered and cherished.

Looking forward to hearing more about Rooney and his adventures.
