Off camping again next week over to Anglesey - second time since we adopted Becks - so plenty of walks/swimming and retrieving!!!!!! Four months on and he is much more settled and a lot calmer - and absolutely loves his walks and sticks. The first few months were quite difficult I have to say - a bit of a culture shock after our old lab Trooper - but he has wormed his way in to all our hearts now - and is a gorgeous boy. We have definitely been through a major power struggle with him and found the best way to deal with the jumping up/humping and mouthing was to just walk away and totally ignore the bad behaviour - and make much of the good stuff. Patience, consistency and calmness seem to have worked. Even had an emergency trip to the feared vets following an allergic reaction to a sting - the vet escaped without so much as a nip!! ( Apparently his previous vet threw a table at him). Am sure the next few months will see big changes again - fingers crossed that the photo worked - not very good at this technologyhttp://www.homealabrador.net/phpbb3/posting.php?mode=post&f=36#
What a gorgeous photo he looks adorable.....clearly it has been hard work for you, but it sounds like you have made some excellent progress with him. Well done for sticking at it
