12 months on with Olly up date

Post by Sally and Olly »

Hi,
It's been an eventful year my mobile phone was buried in the snow the tv remote was mangled, numerous pairs of socks have been through the system and are deposited across the Cumbrian counrtyside BUT after 12 months I have a dog who has, I think, decided he is happy here.

Hand feeding really helped to form a bond and after all the effort in trying to treat train Olly I realised he would do nearly anything for a ball.

He is instinctively labrador and has caught a pheasant which was too idle to take off! and a chicken which did live to tell the tale.

He's currently lying close by having declared war on a fresh bandage, supposedly so fowl tasting that it won't be touched, Olly feels everything is worthy of chewing. He cut his foot badly while out in the fields and is not far from being released from his bright yellow bandage but has a couple of days to go, this accident was followed by him swallowing a sports sock, which lead to another trip to the vet for the vomit drug!

He is an absolute water dog and when there isn't a river he's quite happy to get into the water troughs and if all else fails lying down in a large muddy puddle will suffice.

Have I got my hands full? Yes. Would I change him? No.

We've had a great year, he's a mixture of being big, gentle and loving and a total thug but he's the best thug I've ever come across.

Thank you all at North West Labrador rescue for the chance to share life with such a great dog an extra thank you to Carol and Ian for all their efforts to get me back on line.

Oh Olly! Haven't you been keeping people on their (sockless) toes! Sounds like you're a very loved boy though. :love5: Hope your foot is soon better. :love2:
