Casper one year on!

Post by Shirley Jones »

Hi, Casper has been with us for one year now. We picked him up on 4th January last year and he has fitted in to our family perfectly.
He was a whopping 49.7kg when we got him and over the summer he got down to 36kg but weighed him after Christmas and back up to a shameful 42kg. Sharing too much of our food! He is very gentle and funny but also stubborn and greedy. He climbs into the dishwasher to lick plates and up onto the bench in our kitchen to hoover up any leftovers and shows no remorse when caught out!
We were also not warned about his obsession with mud and water. My friend calls him a hippo and he is always by far the dirtiest dog after a trip to the forest. He seems to be able to find water anywhere and would be useful in the desert!
But he gallops around and fetches the ball with our son, Ben, and patiently copes with wearing hats and dressing gowns the girls, Molly and Harrriet, always cover him with and all the hugs and kisses so we love him very much.
Here are some pics:

Hi Shirley, I cannot believe that you have had Casper one year and what a lovely boy he is. He has such gentle face and looks as if butter would not melt in his mouth. :1967:

Have you tried stopping by the stream that runs through the village on your way home from the forest. It is nice and clean and would rinse him down as a starter. Balee and Megan love it.

Haha! What great photo's... love them all but in particular the dirty one! :love2: I thought Coco could get dirty but at least she's chocolate so the mud doesn't show as much! :1966:

Love it! Looks like Casper is thinking 'What's she looking at me like that for?' in the muddy picture!

He is a stunning boy and obviously adores being pampered by your girls.

:beerandwhistle: Happy (belated) 1st Gotcha Day Casper :beerandwhistle:

The muddy piccy of you made me laugh. I have one called Scooby who is just the same, only there is probably a lot more mud involved because he is much larger then Casper. The smellier the mud, the more he likes it. :2008:
