Gorgeous George

Post by JoanG »

This is so shocking and I can't believe I am having to post this message but unfortunately my gorgeous, handsome boy passed away just before midnight last night. He died at home naturally in his own bed with both of us with him, he looked as if he was just fast asleep, his coat was shiney and he looked so well, not one grey hair in sight - not bad for an 8 year old.

We are totally heartbroken, we've had him individually cremated and he is now back home with us where he belongs. He will lie in our garden in his favourite spot, where he can feel the sunshine and listen to the passing village life as he always did.

I told George last night that now he can chase as many deer as he likes at Rainbow Bridge but what breaks my heart is knowing I shall never see that handsome face or stroke those velvet ears again or give him a tummy rub which use to make him smile. He really has brought us so much joy right from the day we brought him home to yesterday, even his last day was lovely he told the postman off and had a good walk in the fields and round the village for the last time. If he had to go he went in the best possible way.

That's all I can post now as I can't function properly at the moment but I intend to remember George in a happy, joyous way as that was what he was.

Oh Joan :cry3: :cry3: I've started this three times, because I'm struggling to find the words. We all know much George meant to you (and always will). Goes without saying, all of your friends here know how you're feeling right now.

So often, we have to make 'that ' decision, but as you say, George has gone naturally, in his own time in the best place he could have been and without suffering.

You'll treasure the memories and once the awful rawness wears off, you'll remember the George who had a wonderful, happy life.

For now..... :bighug: :bighug:

Dear Joan and your husband, what can I say I am truly devasted for you both, this is the most awful time, having been there as almost all of us have several times, but it does not get any easier. Gorgeous George you were such a handsome boy, you have left you mum and dad very quickly but if anything is of any help you were at home .
Rest in peace gorgeous boy and take care of all our beautiful boys and girls at rainbow bridge.
Thinking of you both with love

Joan I am so, so sorry to hear this news but I hope that the fact that he passed away peacefully in his own basket at home, surrounded by his family and sparing yourselves from having to make that awful decision will ease the distress that we all know you are feeling.

Thinking of you,

Paul and Skye.

Joan I'm so, so sorry to read your post but hope you feel comforted that your beautiful boy did things his way, settled in his own bed with you with him, after a day doing what he enjoyed.
My heart goes out to you, it really does.
Run free Gorgeous George :love2:

So very sorry to hear this Joan - my heart aches for you - sadly I know only to well how you are feeling. It's a year today since we lost our Jasper and it still hurts. Take comfort knowing that George had a wonderful, if too short a life with you.

Run free at the bridge with all our furry friends - chase the deer to your heart's content.

Take care

I'm absolutely heartbroken for you both Joan, your post has made me cry. It is so unfair. You are in our thoughts and we I'll always remember the beautiful gorgeous George we met and his gentle lovely face. Please take comfort from the fact you had him in your life, what a lucky boy he was to have found you and vice versa. Run free beautiful George xxx

Oh how very sad. :cry3:
George sounds as though he had a wonderful last day, came home settled in bed and went to the bridge in his own time, at home, with mum and dad with him, if there is a good way to pass then George did that, he saved you from the last decision bless him. :love2:
You run, play and chase to your hearts content over the bridge Gorgeous boy.
Lots of love, Janet, Pat, Barney & Lola xxxx
