RESULT!!!

Post by jackiem »

:1951: :1951: Bob ignored two rabbits on the path this morning!!!! :1951: :1951:
Just two weeks ago he nearly tore my arm out of its socket and did his usual vocal performance probably over the same two rabbits and it took him about five minutes to calm down.
This morning his ears pricked up but I shouted "Bah!!!" very loudly as instructed by Richard the trainer last Friday and Bob completely ignored the rabbits and carried on walking by my knee.
The magic "Bah!!!" works wonders on all occasions. I've got a sore throat, Malc's got a dicky ticker but Bob understands that I mean business. The other night I wandered into the kitchen to find Malc loading the dishwasher and Bob "helping to clean the plates" which worries me as there are usually knives in the dishwasher and I don't want him to cut his tongue so I shouted "Bah", Malc leapt a mile, Bob shot into his basket and I was left spluttering. Think I might have shouted a bit too loudly! But it works :1954:
Hope there will be a "best behaved former hooligan" class at the Funday!

Nooooo!!!!! :2019: I hate having my picture/video taken. I have this misguided illusion that I am young and attractive and the truth comes as a shock every time. All cameras are to be kept at Bob's height!
He is yet to be tested properly on reaction to other dogs post training session so I do hope that my scary sheep impression works on his reaction to dogs too. :2014:

well done for the progress you and Bob are doing really well by the sound of it ( you could get your monies worth if you manage to train your husband as well :1968: )

Hi
Thats really funny :1939:

My lab was a bit snappy when offering treats, I used to growl at her when she went for the treat until eventually she calmed down and took the treat much more politely! Similar technique.

Malc tried the growl but it came out with as a very gentle little grrr and Bob licked his face! I don't think he has quite got the technique!

There was of course a lot more than shouting "Bah" involved in the training session much of which you will have seen on Cesar Millan's "The Dog Whisperer" etc, this was just one element and it may not work alone but every bit helps as they say.
