We can't believe it, yesterday, he travelled home with us for 2 1/4 hours and slept soundly all the way. He's very settled, loves his new toys, ate his tea SLOWLY (never had a lab who ate slowly!), he's very calm and gentle and so soft to stroke. He's had loads of cuddles, been for some nice walks, met a couple of local dogs (he seemed very interested in Jess a very flirty Border Collie), and is now fast asleep near me in the office.
We have one clever dog here - he knows how to open doors by the door handle, that made us laugh as we were just setting the burglar alarm after shutting him in the utility room, turned round and there he was wagging his tail! After a short howling session and a firm "Enough in your bed" from me he settled down and we didn't hear a peep from him until 6.30am - no damage, no mishaps. This 10 month old is GORGEOUS he doesn't pull, sits at the roadside, has been very well trained. If only my OH was as well trained!!!
I know it's early days but after a long 17 months it's fantastic having my own dog again. Hope the photos come out okay.
Thanks so much Glenys for letting us adopt him.
