I have a new home - and a new name too!!

Post by Melliott »

Hello everyone,

Tomorrow it will be a month since I arrived in my forever home and I thought I would let you all know how I am getting on. I arrived with Aunty Glenys and the following day my new mummy and daddy came to see me with my new sister Millie. They had recently lost their old boy Toby and they needed cheering up so I decided I would be on my best behaviour and if I was lucky I would get to go home with them. My plan worked, dad told Aunty Glenys that I was "the one" and I jumped in the back of the car - my dad said "good boy Barney" and I thought my name is OBI - but he said I looked like a Barney and I liked my new name so I agreed.

I arrived at my new home, I cocked my leg on the sofa - my mum told dad I was spreading my scent - whatever that means - I soon realised that I shouldn't do that as Millie always waited until we went for a walk. I have been a good boy since that little incident! I come back when I am called - I know mum has the treats, she calls them training treats - I call them yummy!! I am allowed to share my new sisters toys, she has loads so can spare a few, I had a new toy too for my birthday - I had only been here 4 days when I became 5 years old, mum and dad sang to me and Millie licked my face - quite nice really. My new toy has lost a leg in a game of tugger with Mill and mum is going to sew it back together for me. I have a new bed but I am allowed on the BIG bed when mum and dad say it's OK. When they are not looking though I climb on there with Millie - mum said Millie would be a good role model for me so I figured I should do what she does - mum found us and said I looked cute - RESULT as I love the BIG bed and if I wag my tail I get to stay on it!

We have just been on holiday for two weeks to Wales in our caravan, I like this new home - the seaside was brill and I went swimming and played ball with Mill - she may be 9 but she gives me a run for my money! I am back at home now resting as mum says we will be going in the caravan again soon for her birthday and I need to save some energy - but she keeps taking us on walks so how am I supposed to rest - it's a hard life - but I love it HE HE!

I will be in touch again soon and am sending some pics of me and Millie on the beach. Thankyou Aunty Glenys for letting me come to my forever home. I am being a good boy, I am trying not to be so nervous, mum says I will be OK and that they all love me and not to be frightened of things - and I believe her cos I know that I am going to be loved by my new family forever.

Enjoy the pics.

Lots of love Barney XXXX

PS I am putting some weight on now so look quite a handsome boy - even if I say so myself
