"She's getting used to the water now"
Hi Glenys
We took Connie and Harvey out for their first walk today, up at Ogden Water.
As there are no roads or other dangers around, we decided to let her off her lead and practice her recall. We thought little and often would be the best bet, so we called her and praised her plenty over the course of the outing. No running off at all, and always came bounding back when called.
Harvey was straight into the water as usual, but Connie was a little cautious at first. She soon got the hang of it, but really only went in as far as her chest. She enjoyed chasing Harvey around and stealing his stick when he had done the hard job of swimming back with it! She has quite a voice on her when she wants that stick too!
We are also really pleased with the good influence that they both seem to have on each other. Harvey helps her with her recall, and Connie seems to help Harvey to remain calmer when other dogs are around. They are also both travelling very well together.
She's had a bit of an upset stomach, which we're putting down to the journey, and she seems to favour the wet food rather than the biscuits. She's certainly not as greedy as Harvey.
Connie is settling in very well, and has really taken to Teresa, my partner. If you could pass on these few words of reassurance to the previous owner, I'm sure he'll feel much better.
Rich.

Think she looks happy do you?
