Mij and the tiny lamb
We have at the moment seven tiny pet lambs all being bottle fed around the clock.
Mij adores them ( Grasey is petrified of them but I am working on it).
I think Mij loves them as he can lick their milky chops!!!

Lovely pictures Ky I think you were right there i'm not sure how impressed Puck was having his face washed . It'a great to see Mij being involved, hope Grayse realises eventually they aren't scary.

Aren't they both gorgeous
Reminds me of when I was 4/5 at school. Our class went on a trip to a farm and then one afternoon they also came to school to talk and look at our work and brought along a lamb. For some reason, they asked me to hold it while the teacher took a few photos...as Mrs Crow said "say cheese" the poor mite pooped on me and mum has this photo of me trying to struggle with the lamb half laughing and half grimacing I then had to get something out of the dressing up box in the play area to wear until hometime

Hi Ky
Lovely photos!
Just one thing, why are you bottle feeding the lambs? Have the mums rejected them?

Re: Mij and the tiny lamb
Sue,
the lambs are being bottle fed because they were bought in as pet lambs. Some were triplets and the farmer has taken the third one off the ewe, a couple the ewe got mastitis and could not feed the lambs themselves. So the guy we get them from has so many sheep I suppose it is not worth his while bottle feeding a few as powdered milk is very expensive and I reckon a farmer looks at the return.
I am quite mad in that I love bottle feeding lambs. Lynne thinks I am bonkers.
I enjoy feeding them and watching them grow and then they help keep our grass down and then I am afraid the harsh reality is they go for slaughter....BUT ...they have had a wonderful life with the best of everything and not suffered the trauma of going through a market etc.
Our own sheep start lambing next week around the same time as Lynne but unlike her we did not have ours scanned so we do not know what to expect. The only thing I do know is that Lily had mastitis last year and so I will be bottle feeding her lamb or lambs as well!!!!
I will just say that it does not always go to plan as 2 of last years bottled lambs are still here as pets and I already have my eye on one of the littleys.!!
