I have been a bit down in the dumps these past few days. Last night, I was curled up on the sofa, tears streaming. Archie climbed up beside me, paw round my neck and started licking the salty tears. Say no more.... He is such a lovely boy, so gentle, a big softy. Love him to bits! Hes hardly left my side today. Infact at one point both him and Lexi were snuggled up with me on the sofa. Not sure how we all fit on, but we did and it was lovely.

That's what we are missing at the moment - will have to think seriously in March, after our holiday. Happy for you that you have such lovely company!

Sorry to hear you've not been tip top the last few days, bless Lexi & Archie cuddling up to you. Amazing isn't it they seem to know. Hope you are feeling better today.

Bit worried about Archie...hes not been too well.
Since we have had him, his "poos" have been a bit hit and miss, rather sloppy and hes also had a couple of bouts of sickness and very watery poo too. Have done the starving, chicken and rice business, several times, but things still aren't right and he has lost 3kgs since we brought him home with us at the end of November.
Otherwise in himself, he is fine and has a healthy appetite. Anyway, I have had him back to the vet today who has put him on a Hills prescription diet (he was on James Wellbeloved) to which i have to add some extra fibre to try and firm things up and I have to collect 3 samples over the weekend to be sent for testing. If this doesn't show any infection that can be treated with antibiotics he will have to have blood tests and be tested for other things as well as food intolerences.
It would also appear he has ear mites! This really surprised me, as he hasn't been shaking his head or pawing his ears....so both he and Lexi are now on treatment for that too!

Oh dear :( I do hope we can get him sorted, sooner rather than later and get him putting some weight on...

Poor Archie!

I hope the samples indicate something then you will know what you are dealing with.

Just read that back and it sounds odd! I am not hoping he is ill, you understand :1968:

It is just that its better to have some definite results rather than guesswork :2019:

I hope you are feeling better as well as Archie

Poor Archie, I hope the tests come back clear - poor boy. You must be worried. The good sign is though he's eating. My Mum's dog has ear mites at the moment too, and not very happy being chased round to have drops put in! Good luck with the tests.

Had Archie back at the Vets yesterday. Was bit bothered as things weren't improving and had phoned for advise, to be told to take him down for a check over. I had collected a couple of days samples, so they suggested sending those off and see what, if anything they show. Hes now on antibiotics and another tablet to settle things, but if anything, his Number 2's are getting wetter, not firmer! Perservering with the presciption diet in the meantime. Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon. In himself, he is fine, wanting to play etc etc, so that must be a good sign and hes drinking plenty, so not dehydrating.

I am worried, just want to know whats what. The bizarre thing, he is fine in himself and apart from losing the weight, has a shiny coat, wet nose, bright eyes. Its just the poos! Even the prescription diet and fibre doesn't seem to be firming things up as they should. Will just have to hang fire til the first lots of results come back....but its hard, I just want him sorted. Thanks everyone xx
