Max's new home

Post by Rose »

We adopted Max in April as a companion for our dog Bonnie who sadly lost her previous best friend in February.
Initially Max was a bit anxious which unsettled Bonnie, but fortunately he quickly overcame his worries (almost) and things calmed down.
He is a lovely, friendly, affectionate, energetic and playful dog and gets along very well with Bonnie who is learning to share all of her toys and getting used to the competition when chasing the balls. Keeps her on her toes.
Max walks well on the lead and behaves very well when let off - always coming back when called. He is a relaxing dog to walk and very good with other dogs - better since he was "done".
He adores his food, even helping himself to strawberries from the garden (until we caught him at it) and we love him.
When we lost our previous dog we were very upset for ourselves and for Bonnie. We have been very, very lucky to find Max.
In the photos Max is the larger dog in the first picture and the one standing up in the second.

Thank you so much Rose for putting on this update.
I was the volunteer who picked Max up from the kennels where he'd been and brought him down to MKF. He was such a lovely lad and I'd often wondered how he'd got on with you. So glad he and Bonnie are now good friends! I knew he'd make someone a lovely new friend! :love5:
Thanks again

Aaww thank you for the update on Max. I know you had a couple of problems initially with him settling in but so glad you stuck by him and gave him time. He and Bonnie look like they are the best of friends now. More updates soon please. :1992:

Great update. thanks. It just proves that things don't happen overnight, but if you stick at it, as you obviously did, the rewards are more than worth it. Well done for that.

They really compliment each other. Beautiful. :love2:
