Labrador Rescue

The lambs are gorgeous and they have not reached the really cute stage where they are progging all over the place.

As for looking after they take the same ammount of looking after as 7 new babies--bottles every 3 to 4 hours day and night!!!
Everyone thinks I am mad as I thouroughly enjoy having them and the bottle stage is only for a few weeks so it soon passes.

Grasey is still a little unsure of the lambs especially when they make scarey noises!!! Mij adores them (mind you he adores everything).
The birds are getting more used to having a strange dog here and are not as jumpy in fact I got a picture yesterday of Grayse helping them scratch for corn and once I can get my computer to recognise the camera I will put it on.
This morning I truly feel that Grayse is "one of the pack" her and Bob have been playing chase catch which involves Bob chasing Grayse til he catches her and then he turns tail and she chases him all this is done with much enthusiasm and tail wagging. They have raced about til they are both exhausted.
Grayse is never far from me in fact I have to be careful when I get out of the shower as there is usually a black furry bath mat!!
Our nights continue to be quiet and she has even coped with me getting up in the night to heat bottles and feed lambs.

We love her more each day and each day she brings us more joy as we see her settle more and more.

Roll on monday and the second jab and we can go out and about.

She looks so well!! and settled, what a great life she now has, its really lovely to see. Thank you for giving her such a wonderful home.

She couldn't have asked for a more idyllic home, what a fabulous place you have there Ky it looks wonderful! Pictures are great too, she's a stunning girl. Glad everyone is so happy.

Lucky you!! I know it's hard work (you can't have a lie-in like me!! ) but what an experience for Grayse. Like Kizzy, she's probably experienced so little of this kind of life she lives in now.

By the way, what is that bird with the colourful plumage and long tail?

The bird is a Lady Amhurst Pheasant cock--the females are just brown and ordinary.

I bought Geoff a quartet of them for his birthday around 18 months ago but as they were young when I bought them this is the first time he has been in full plumage.

I think he is magnificent.

Ha! If you are on your way there is snow to clear first!!

I want to live with you too Ky, but I am not sure about the early starts ! It looks idyllic and I would love to be surrounded by all those animals and countryside. Grayse has truly fallen on her paws!

Is there room for another one?

I'm so jealous, makes my office life really boring, and although we live a stones throw from Rivington its nothing compared to where you live! Oh well keep doing the lottery, someone has to win!
