Amazing Grayse (Gracie)

Post by Ablineth »

Having discovered that Gracie is a form of jiu-jitsu I wanted to change her name. Geoff counter argued that it was her name and that Carol had been calling her it and she was probably getting used to it.
So a good old compromise was reached, her name is still pronounced the same but spelt "Grayse" which is the latin for grace and means blessing and effortless beauty and I think suits her to a tee. :1973: :1973:

We went to pick her up from Carol's and she was coy, here were 3 strangers coming to take her away from the first real home she had known. I have to say here we thought the pups were lovely and believe me the photos of them do not do them justice, Grayse and Carol have done a fantastic job. :1954: :1954:
We had a good journey with her and she travelled like a dream. I think she was a little nervous as she went to sleep sitting up and leaning on the back seat. She eventually relaxed and felt more at home to the point that when we stopped at some traffic lights she barked at the pedestrians, in fact barking is something we have discovered she loves to do!! :1966:

When we got her home David, my son, took her down the lane and out of sight till the other three had come outside and got over the excitement of seeing us again. When David brought her through the gate there was much tail wagging and of course "bum sniffing". Scooby looked at me as much as to say "not another one!!"Image

Please note in the last picture she walked into the sitting room and calmly jumped on the settee, luckily I keep a sheet on it as this is something Scooby likes to do. My daughter decided it is a girl thing and that it was very funny. :1966:

Can't get over how much like Kizzy Grayse looks, apart from the undercarriage!!

How good your 3 are to accept her so well onto their territory, too.

Please keep us updated...can't wait!!..it's almost like getting Kizzy all over again!!

Lovely pictures of Grayse Ky she is a really beautiful girl. I love the first picture and the one of Mij upsidedown in his bed is really funny. What a great character he is. She will have a lovely life with you all i'm sure, and bring you all so much love and laughter.

Big hugs to Carol too today :1973: :1973: i'm sure she shed a tear when Grayse left. You've been a wonderful foster Mum to her and probably missing her already. Thankyou for being there for her and her babies. Looking forward to more updates and pictures.

Latest update everything is fine but she does like the sound of her own voice!!! :1966:

We are going to the vets at five o'clock for jabs, micro-chipping, worming and a general M.O.T.

What stunning looking dogs you have and Grayse compliments them. She looks like she is going to enjoy her new home, although I do think that you will need a larger cage for them all if Grayse is going to join them in there. The last two pictures made me smile, love them :love5: .

Hope Grayse has a wonderful life with her new family. :love2: How wonderful to have so many playmates.

Grayse is also a traditional Manx name.

Well what a busy day we have had.
Grayse "helped" let out all the birds this morning, she was not at all keen on the geese! We met the big Jacob sheep and she is definitely wary of those which is a good thing. Our little sheep she is not scared of but still keeps a healthy distance.

We seem to have had a string of people here.
First she met two friends of mine who called to see me then she met the postman--this is our relief postman and he is not keen on dogs and all he could say was "Another one!!!".

Bob and Gracie have been playing frisbee in the field and she has discovered that she loves that game.

We filled all the bird drinkers and she helped with the hose pipe. :1966: I am nearly dry now. :1966:

We then went and moved a ton of feed that had been delivered and you will never know what a help she was then--every time I lifted a sack and turned around I fell over her. In the end it was throw the frisbee lift the sack and run before she came back. :1966:
This evening we went to see Lynne on our way to the vets. At the vets has had her first jabs, been microchipped and weighed for her wormer. I knew she was a small girl and at 24.7 kilos that confirmed it.

We have just been to put the birds to bed and this is where she was at her most helpful!! I rounded up the ducks and got them in but before I could close the door Grayse had gone in with them and chased them all out again so what normally takes me around 10 minutes took nearly a half hour!!
I think I can honestly sat she has settled, getting her still long enough for a photo that is difficult, she is only still when she is asleep. :1966: :1966:

Yes, I met Grayse on her way to the vet this evening. She is such a sweetheart. Bless her. A great addition to Ky's family.

I do believe she snores!!! :1968: :1968: :1968: Great fun as Buddie snores and I know what that can be like. Really looking forward to Buddie meeting her soon. :love6:
