It's me Barney - 7 months on and Lovin my Forever Home

Post by Melliott »

Hi everyone, I have been promising to update you on what has been happening in my life since I came to my forever home in June - so here goes - sit back and enjoy! - he he - this feels like Jackanory!!

Well I came to my forever home in June, and I had my birthday that very week - it was good - my sister Millie bought me a dog called Oscar - we took it on holiday with us in our caravan - Millie and I played wiv it and now it only has three legs - mum said we played a bit rough - but we loved it - here we are sat in front of our van - that's Oscar in my mouth - he is all soggy but I don't mind - Millie does though - she says it makes my breath smell!!

Image

Well I have to say folks I love this caravan lark - we have been away quite a lot and I get to do my fave thing - guess what?........swimming in the sea, it's really brill - both me and Mill love playing wiv the ball - I beat her though cos I am fast but she says she lets me win cos she likes me - now that I am big and strong I look really cool jumping in the sea

Image

This is Mill

Image

Talking of big and strong when I came to my forever home I was really thin, Mill thought I was a stick - HE HE - anyway I have now put on 8.5 kilos and I am very handsome - what do you think - this is me wiv my dad when we went to Devon

Image

I loved Devon - the sea was brill but we also did other things - you know what we did - we went on this cliff railway thingy - I was very frightened - I still am quite timid wiv some things - and I don't like slippy floor - the lift had wooden floor and I thought I might slip so I trembled but Dad looked after me and cuddled me all the way up - what a relief when we got off - after a bit though I thought I might like to go on again - I am getting a brave boy now - here we are waiting for the lift

Image

After that experience Mum said she fancied a coffee so we went to find a coffee shop - the man at the shop loved me and Mill and brought us a biscuit - I had two cos I am putting weight on - Mill had one cos she has to watch her weight - sushh - she thinks she had two cos Mum broke one in half - don't tell her though!! Here we are at the coffee shop

Image

Hey I almost forgot - one weekend Dad told me we were going fishing - then he told me a story called "The One that Got Away" - mum laughed hysterically - and I had a little chuckle to myself - although I wasn't quite sure at what I was laughing at - anyhows Mum packed the van and we went fishing - Mill knew what to do and sat next to Dad - I looked at the water and thought BRILLIANT - Dad just caught me before I went in and scared all the fish - I thought they might have liked me to say hello but Dad said NO!! Here we are being good sat next to Dad

Image

I like fishing!!

Well it came to October and Dad said last trip in the van before Winter - so we went to North Yorkshire and we had a great time - Mill and me went in the sea - yippeeeee - here we are getting dried on the sea front - don't laugh - !!

Image

We came back from this trip and the van was packed away - I got sad cos I liked our trips but I needn't have worried - Mum had planned a special pessie for Dad's birthday and at the beginning of December we went to North Yorkshire in a log cabin - wow it was fabarooney - I was scared to go up to the front door as it was a wooden ramp - you know what I am like wiv wood - well I got brave and tried it - when I got inside I loved it - it had a big wide window - like a wall - and a balcony - Mill went straight out and looked through at the rabbits -

Image

I decided I could do it too if I took Oscar wiv me

Image

It was good!!

We went for some great walks - here we are wiv Dad by the River Swale

Image

and here we are posing

Image

When we came back we prepared for Christmas - I wasn't sure what they were all talking about - I never had much fuss before and wasn't sure what they were getting excited about - but then Mum put up the tree and said she couldn't put pressie's under it cos Mill would open them - Mill loves walking about with them in her mouth - she is famous for it you know - she was even on the Labrador Rescue Christmas Cards this year - anyhow we snoozed whilst Mum put the tree up

Image

I quite like this sofa thingy!

Then we went for walks in the woods

Image

Image

Then Mill opened some pressies - I had to let her do mine for me too - next year I think I might try it myself

Image

Image

Well everyone I hope you have enjoyed reading my update - I promise not to leave it so long next time - but as you can see I have been pretty busy in the last few months - what wiv one thing and another - I hope you all had a Happy Christmas and me and Mill wish you a very Happy New Year

Fabulous photos, Barney is one handsome dog and he now looks really fit and healthy. Love the one of him and Millie in their towels and them lying flat out on the sofa.

They are both lovely dogs, they are a credit to you.
