Great news nice to see them settling in well, I took the call from the previous owner and he was very sad to give Purdey up but due to work commitments felt he had to when he was describing her I knew I had to let glenys know about her.
I had seen Busters poster on valentines day and felt sorry for him, (he is such a handsome boy too) so here now is the result.... :love3:

Enjoy Arlyn, you are now an official member of the "Double Trouble " club... :1961:

Really really pleased for you Arlyn. Purdey and Buster look like an excellent match. Glad you got your girl in the end, I felt so sorry for Buster when I saw his Valentine appeal. Looks like it worked though :1973: Can`t wait for the beach pics :bounce:

Congratulations Arlyn on adopting Purdey. You know what they say, "it always comes to those who wait".

I am sure you now think the wait was well worth it. What a gorgeous couple they make. :love6:

Poor Buster. It is very, very tiring having an active little sister :love2:

I know how he feels :1966:

My goodness, what a busy weekend we have had, learning all about one another.

Yesterday we played fetch in the garden, or rather Purdey played fetch and Buster played steal the ball. In the afternoon, Buster, Purdey and I went off for a walk along the forestry path. It was such a lovely day and so peaceful, we kept walking and walking. At one point both dogs suddenly froze and stared up the path - just up ahead 4 or 5 red deer were crossing. :2026: We all stopped and stared at each other for about a minute before the deer moved on. I am so proud of both dogs, they neither barked nor tried to chase the deer. Last night we were invited to a party. I didn't really want to go, not knowing how Purdey would be when left alone, so we only went for a couple of hours, but I needn't have worried, she had her big bro for company and was absolutely fine. Purdey wont let Buster out of her sight - if he lags behind when we are out, she turns and waits for him to catch up then nudges his neck as if to say come on slowcoach.

Today we went to visit friends who have a 10 yr old black lab boy and 4 month old girl. The 2 girls had a ball playing together - it gave Buster a bit of a break too. This afternoon we went to the beach. I got the feeling yesterday that Purdey didn't like to get her feet wet, as whenever Buster jumped into a ditch, she would hover on the edge but not go in. On the beach today however she went straight into the water and started dancing in the waves. She also swam right across the burn at the end of the beach and back again. We had a lovely time. They are now both fast asleep wearing their towelling coats to stay warm and dry.

There is so much I could tell you about this wonderful little girl, but that can wait. Here are a few photos of our weekend

Arlyn - she is absolutely gorgeous. I think she needs a holiday on the west coast (higher up!). She is just the sort of girl my Jasper goes for (he's very particular - he only likes lady labradors (yes I am being serious - he will play with other labs but any other breed of dog he just sits by his dad - never knew a dog could be 'dogist'!).

Sounds like Buster and Purdey were made for each other :love6: - hope you all have many happy years together.

Wonderful pics, you must be over the moon with how things have turned out. I'm sure her previous owners must be so relieved.
