Well today we had a sheep lamb--3 days early. She had one of the ugliest lambs I have ever seen but the poor little mite was welcomed into this world by two labrador tongues. Mij and Grayse both took it upon themselves to clean and dry the lamb. I felt so sorry for it as having gone through the trauma of birth it then had 2 very large labrador tongues to contend with!!! :1966: :1966: The ewe was not at all impressed. The good side is Grayse does not seem to be frightened of the lambs anymore
I have been to shut the birds up and Mij is trying to get back to the lamb, I think he regards it as his!! :1967: he really is a lovable lump, so gentle.

Grayse continues to settle, yesterday we were training her not to go out of the gates and she seems to grasp things very quickly how long she retains them remains to be seen.
We had a very hard frost last night and Grayse and Mij spent ages lifting the ice from the top of the troughs and ponds.
I have 2 real water babies, I never thought there would be another that liked water as much as Mij but there is!! :1966: :1966:

Grayse continues to be a fantastic dog, barky but lovely.

Scooby is the barker, she barks at anything and Grayse is trying to follow suit but unlike Scooby she will shut up when told.
We continue with basic training and at the moment have been training her not to go through the gates when told or even when they are open.

Here is Grayse being taught not to go throught he gate, Mij sits automatically, Geoff is to one side should he be needed to grab and I am in the middle of the lane likely to be knocked over :1966:

Ky Grayse looks in fantastic shape. Glad she is good with the sheep :thumbright: Careful you don`t get run over while training, looks like she is doing great though. Must be the example the others are setting. They all look super together. :1972:

I love these photos, especially the one of Grayse with her head in the trough and also the one of Mij and the lambs - I wonder if they think he is their mum, he is almost the right colour? :1967:

We have had a really manic couple of weeks with lambing and setting up the breeding pens for the birds not to mention all the set backs of fox and badger attacks. Throughout all this hectic time Grayse has just slotted in to the incredibly busy daily routine.

Grayse adores the pet lambs and like Mij has discovered that they are messy drinkers and so have wonderfully milky chops to lick afterwards!! :1966: Yesterday the lambs ,all 7 of them, followed Grayse into the kitchen so there we were trying to push them back outdoors and they were just blarting for a bottle!! we eventually got them back outside where they spent the next 10 minutes racing up and down the drive boinging into the air accompanied by two labradors. Although to be honest Mij did not run around for the whole time!! :1966:
Her figure continues to improve and considering the ammount of food she eats that amazes me!! but she is outside with me most of the day and running around.

Yesterday when we got back from the show and were racing around trying to do all the jobs we should have done had we not been away for the day, a lady and her 2 little girls called to see us and collect her chickens. Grayse adored the little girls who of course loved the dogs and immediately started throwing balls and frisbees down the field. The dogs thought this was wonderful but I was particularly pleased to see the way Grayse was with the little girls, quite excited and very fussy to begin with but she did not jump up or bark ( this was a miracle as she barks at everything) she was just lovely with them. :1954: :thumbright:

Hopefully life will get less hectic and I can put somemore pics of her up, I will be interested to see what she makes of the chicks when they start to hatch. :2026:

Awh, Ky, she sounds like she is having a wonderful life :love2:

Shame you didn't get footage of the lambs in the kitchen and boinging around outside...seems Grayse and Mij are having a whale of a time giving them all labrador facials too :1968:
